Making Tax Digital Is Coming Up Fast

February 27, 2019

I wasn’t sure it would ever happen, but it looks like I was wrong – MTD is coming, and all VAT registered businesses will have to be compliant by 1 June 2019, and some a soon as 1 April 2019.

So if you’re not sure what you need to do, here’s a quick update.

Starting from the first VAT return period starting on or after 1 April 2019, your VAT return will need to be filed including the detailed transactions. The way to do this will be by using an HMRC approved accounting package.

If we do you VAT, then we will take care of it, but if you currently do your own, then you may have to upgrade to a compliant system.

Most well-known packages will be supported, but you may have to upgrade to their latest version.

If you don’t use a package, then now is the time to start.
