Behind the Scenes: How Our Business Development Process Works at Seagrave French

At Seagrave French, we don’t leave growth to chance—ours or yours. That’s why we’ve developed a practical, step-by-step Business Development (BD) process that ensures we handle every new enquiry with clarity, consistency, and care.

Here’s a peek behind the curtain at how we work:

1. The Enquiry Comes In
Whether it’s a website form, a social media message, or an old-fashioned phone call, every potential client enquiry is captured and logged immediately. No one falls through the cracks.

2. Initial Screening & Prep
We review the enquiry to check it’s a good fit. Is it within our target market? Can we genuinely help? If yes, we book a Discovery Meeting and gather any initial background info so we come prepared.

3. Discovery Meeting
This isn’t a sales pitch—it’s a conversation. We explore the prospect’s business, challenges, and goals. We also explain what we do and how we can help. This meeting sets the stage for everything that follows.

4. Proposal Time
Post-meeting, we build a tailored proposal using our pricing tools. This includes:

Scope of services
Transparent pricing
Timelines and deliverables
We send this with a clear explanation—no jargon, no fluff.

5. Follow-Up & Support
We give the prospect time to review and then follow up. Questions? We’re happy to clarify. We aim to make the decision-making process as easy as possible.

6. Onboarding
Once the proposal is accepted, it’s go time! We initiate our streamlined onboarding process—collecting necessary documents, assigning the right team members, and ensuring a smooth handover from BD to client services.

Why This Process Matters

By having a clearly defined BD process, we ensure:
✅ No missed opportunities
✅ Consistent communication
✅ A better match between us and our clients
✅ A smooth start to every client relationship

It’s not just about being organised—it’s about being proactive and intentional in how we grow and serve.
